atlanta's spring festival season

Atlanta’s Spring Festival Season has officially here in April with Car Service Atlanta

You scrape the ice off your windshield in the morning, only to collapse from heat exhaustion by the afternoon due to sky-high allergy levels and the unpleasant fragrance of Bradford pear trees. Atlanta must be in the spring.

Despite the negatives, spring is one of the finest seasons to live in and go to the metro, in part because there are so many festivals: almost every neighborhood in the city hosts a public event to welcome the dogwoods’ blooming, enjoy live music, or take a peek inside stunning homes. We’ve compiled a list of some of metro Atlanta’s must-attend events to aid with your April planning. Add these to your social schedule as you grab your Flonase with Car Service Atlanta.

During April 14–16, at Piedmont Park in Midtown, the Dogwood Festival, a tradition in Atlanta for more than 80 years, honors the annual blooms on the famous dogwood trees in Piedmont Park It has something for everyone, including a thriving artist market, live music, a kids’ village section, and a 5k race, so it offers something for everyone. VIP ticket holders have exclusive access to the show’s main stage, wine and craft beer sampling, and private restrooms. Even still, paying $5 for regular admittance, which is requested, is equally worth it. You can wander through the rest of Piedmont Park after the event.

Sweet water four-twenty fest

Brewery Sweet Water, Peachtree Hills, on 23 and 22 April

For over 20 years, Sweet Water residents have looked forward to this annual occasion. Sweet Water stated that the event, which takes its name from Sweet Water’s well-known 420 beer, is held close to Earth Day, or 4/20, a day with additional environmental importance that many festival goers are aware of. They will have a smaller celebration indoors at their brewery this year instead of at Centennial Park, which may have something to do with Georgia’s new law loosening handgun prohibitions in public spaces. Nonetheless, organizers of the event claim that this year will move things closer to the festival’s small-scale beginnings: More local musicians have been added to the roster, including the Vega bonds, Ghost Land Observatory, Neal Francis, and Austin’s Momentary Graves.

Festival at Inman Park and Tour of Houses

On April 28–30 at several locations in Inman Park

The oldest suburb of Atlanta is known for its exquisite Victorian homes and lovely but dangerous walkways (remember to walk on them in high heels). The Inman Park Festival has a procession on Saturday, a tour of local houses on Friday, and several more weekend activities. On three distinct stages, there will be live music; alternatively, you may see classical and contemporary dance performances at the Trolley Barn. The “Little Gnome Zone,” free, has a Reptile Wrangler, obstacle courses, and other activities for children. Moreover, a big street market has several artists and craftspeople; browse to your heart’s content.

A self-guided tour event called Tour of Houses only occurs on Fridays.

Square in Decatur, plus some extra programs on 28 and 30 April

Eddie’s Attic and the Decatur organization amplify My Community, which combats local poverty, together sponsor this yearly music festival. The event, held in Decatur’s downtown, frequently attracts mega-talent: James Mc Murtry, Patty Griffin, and St. Paul & the Broken Bones are on the 2023 roster. Further musical performances will occur on Friday and Sunday at other Decatur-area locations, most of which are free. Profits from the festival last year garnered $50,000 for various Decatur-based charities. This is a ticketed music event, so it’s inappropriate for young children unless your child is an avid music enthusiast.

Cost: $75 for regular entry; $195 to $250 for VIP, which includes premium seats and free drinks.
